A New Bridge to Open to Traffic in Qingtian in 2027

The Nanwan Bridge project has been under construction for eight months and has officially entered the superstructure construction phase. The bridge is scheduled to open to traffic in 2027, which will effectively eliminate the need for long detours for local residents.

The project is located in Shang'an Block. The substructures of Pier No. 0 to No. 3 have all been completed. Construction teams are stepping up concrete pouring for Pier No. 4. Meanwhile, superstructure works including steel bar binding and formwork erection for cast-in-place box girders are being carried out simultaneously. According to Ji Dayong from Qingtian Urban Development Investment Co., Ltd., the main bodies of all piers are basically finished. The pile caps of Pier No. 4 and No. 5 will be constructed via the hanging basket method, which is the key construction challenge at present. All work is advancing in an orderly manner to ensure the overall construction schedule.

As a key river-crossing thoroughfare, Nanwan Bridge connects Shang'an Village of Sanxikou Subdistrict and Nanwan Village of Ounan Subdistrict. The bridge has a total length of about 270 meters and a deck width of 14 meters. It is designed with two-way traffic lanes and sidewalks on both sides. The 10-meter-wide carriageway is for motor vehicles, while each sidewalk is 2 meters wide, ensuring smooth vehicle passage and pedestrian safety.

Once put into operation, the original 4-kilometer detour between the two villages will be shortened to just over 300 meters. A single trip will take nearly ten minutes less, greatly facilitating the daily travel of residents on both river banks.

In accordance with the construction plan, all substructure works will be fully completed in August this year, and the superstructure is expected to be finished by the end of the year. The entire bridge is set for completion and opening to traffic in April 2027. The new bridge will further improve the regional transportation network, shorten the distance between the two banks, and lay a solid transportation foundation for coordinated regional development.

We look forward to the early completion and opening of Nanwan Bridge to bring more convenient and smooth travel to local people.
