Recently, leveraging the Cultural Center Service Promotion Week, Qingtian County Cultural Center launched the public welfare activity Ancient Charm and Elegant Makeup: Qingtian Travel Photography and Aesthetic Education Class. The center continuously optimizes inclusive public cultural services, inherits and promotes the culture of traditional Chinese costumes and makeup, allowing local residents to experience the charm of Guofeng (Chinese-style) aesthetics up close and gain an immersive understanding of traditional culture's profound heritage.

Focusing on Song Dynasty Guofeng aesthetics, this public welfare course is a distinctive people-benefiting initiative that innovates aesthetic education forms and revitalizes local cultural and tourism resources. Breaking the conventional pure theoretical teaching model, it combines traditional makeup and styling techniques with on-location travel photography at local scenic spots. The activity creates an immersive cultural classroom that is learnable, viewable, experiential and shareable, attracting numerous Guofeng enthusiasts and local citizens to actively participate.

During the class, professional Guofeng makeup instructors provided hands-on training, breaking down core Song Dynasty styling skills. They demonstrated classic looks including Distant Mountain Eyebrows, Peach Blossom Lips, base makeup, updos and hair ornament matching, correcting common mistakes. In response to daily aesthetic needs, they shared everyday makeup tips, helping traditional aesthetics integrate into ordinary life.
Throughout the course, participants observed attentively and practiced earnestly. They collaborated to refine their makeup and hairstyles, fully immersing themselves in the unique joy of traditional styling. After systematic learning and practice, all participants completed full Song Dynasty Guofeng looks. The elegant and vivid makeup, paired with dignified and graceful hairstyles, perfectly embodied the gentle charm of Eastern aesthetics.

Ms. Chen, a participant, said the public welfare course was highly practical and easy to understand. She not only mastered Song Dynasty styling skills but also learned a wealth of traditional aesthetic knowledge, gaining a great deal from the experience.
After the practical training, participants dressed in Hanfu and various Guofeng costumes took on-location travel photos against Qingtian's natural scenery. The elegant Guofeng styles complemented the beautiful landscapes, creating a perfect blend of ancient charm and modern urban vitality. The photos captured precious moments where traditional culture merged with local scenery, and also provided high-quality materials for the promotion of Qingtian's cultural tourism.
This travel photography aesthetic education course is a vivid practice of Qingtian County Cultural Center's efforts to revitalize traditional folk culture and deliver solid public cultural services. Leveraging the advantages of public cultural venues and combining local travel photography resources, the activity popularizes traditional makeup and styling techniques, bringing millennia-old Eastern aesthetics into public life and enabling residents to enjoy high-quality cultural services right at their doorsteps.
During the Cultural Center Service Promotion Week, the county launched public welfare activities including aesthetic classes, cultural experiences and ICH exhibitions. Going forward, Qingtian will explore local cultural tourism resources, innovate service forms, and launch more high-quality aesthetic activities to enrich spiritual life and polish the local tourism brand.
